Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you..
– Katie Reed
You’ve heard the airplane metaphor – the one that advises you to put the oxygen mask on yourself first and then, and only then, can you assist others.
If you’re like most people, you’re probably thinking “Yeah, yeah…this again. I know the drill.”
But let’s be honest… there is a big difference being “knowing” something and actually “doing” it.
People rely on you and you want to do the best, be the best you can.
But are you taking care of yourself? Because that’s the only way to get there.
Do you love yourself enough to be true to who you are and to follow the dream that makes your heart sing?
Taking care of yourself is not selfish.
Loving yourself is not self-absorbed.
The world needs the best of you, and the best you is the biggest gift you can give to those you love.
WRITING & REFLECTION:
What is one self-care habit you’d like to commit to right now?
Make it small, make it doable. Make it happen. XO
