I may sound like a boomer…

My kids roll their eyes and say I sound like a total boomer – and maybe I do. But here’s the thing: when it comes to being healthy and feeling alive, most of the “new” advice out there is really just… getting back to the basics. The way we humans are actually meant to live.

For me, it’s the simple, good stuff, like…
  • Chatting for hours with someone I love.
  • Eating real food (from earth vs. a factory).
  • Unplugging for a few days.
  • Dinner with Dave, the boys and my daughter-in-law-to-be.
  • Time in nature.
  • A good night sleep.
  • Diving into a new book (just started Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake — so good!).
  • Letting myself actually relax (getting better at this one).
  • Girlfriend time.
  • Exploring a new town.
  • Morning yoga on the patio.
  • Enjoying — and marveling at — the changing season.
  • Doing work that I love.
  • Listening to music.
  • The kindness of strangers.
  • Sunsets.
  • Learning something new.
  • Laughing my ass off.
  • A warm cookie.
  • A glass of wine.
  • A firepit on a cool night…
  • Kindness, connection, nature, great food…

Nothing fancy. Nothing high tech. Just the good stuff that can brighten a tough day and make life great.
