Success is yours to define.
Success is an interesting thing because you can appear successful to others but not feel successful on the inside.
We both know this to be true.
In our former professional lives, we both achieved what looks to be great success. The boxes were checked and the ladder was climbed and it all looked so glamorous… and oh so successful.
But we didn’t feel successful.
Why?
Because we both learned that you can be really good at something and that doesn’t mean it’s right for you.
To feel successful, you need to pursue what truly matters to you. What you do and how you spend your precious time needs to be aligned with your values and with who it is that you most want to be.
And that is personal. Only you can define that for you.
Oftentimes we take on a vision of what success is supposed to look like. We do all the things we “should” do to achieve this success and we end up feeling empty.
You need to go back to the basics and define what success means to you… at this stage of your life. Chances are how you define success now may be very different from how you defined it at age 20.
Here are a few things to consider:
What is most important to you?
What do you most want to create in your life?
What kind of impact do you want to make?
How do you want to experience your life?
How do you want to be remembered?
Who do you want to grow into being?
Give yourself the gift of time to get clear on these things and to define what success means to you.
